The Bash Results & Media
Posted by admin on June 29th, 2009. Comments Off

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – His name is Dolph Ziggler. And if you didn’t know that before, you will now.

When Ziggler issued an open challenge to the entire SmackDown roster weeks ago, much to his dismay The Great Khali accepted his challenge and promptly taught the cocky Superstar a lesson. Since then, the two have battled back and forth with Ziggler using a chair to avenge himself and his oft-repeated name.

At the Bash, Ziggler must have sensed he was competing in the most important match of his young career against The Punjabi Giant. As the match got underway, it appeared that Ziggler had bitten off more than he could chew.

But then, a returning Kane paid a surprise visit to help take a bite out of the 7-foot, 3-inch tower of power. Just when Khali seemed to have Ziggler squarely in the palm of his platter-sized hand, The Big Red Monster climbed into the ring and began to pummel Khali with a steel, folding chair. The repeated blows exacted a heavy toll, felling the mighty giant and leaving him susceptible in the center of the canvas.

After Kane’s methodic attack, he calmly exited the ring. In Kane’s wake, Ziggler seized his opportunity, quickly pinning his opponent for one of the night’s biggest upsets and the most significant win in the career of Dolph … Dolph Ziggler.

Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio & The Great Khali def. Edge, Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler
As World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk looked on from the announce table, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio & The Great Khali teamed up to face down Edge, Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler. Perhaps sending a message to Punk, his opponent at The Bash, The Charismatic Enigma pinned Ziggler himself to secure the win for his team.

Dolph Ziggler def. Jimmy Wang Yang
The braggadocios Dolph Ziggler infuriated the WWE Universe on Thursday night by once again backing up his loud mouth with an impressive in-ring victory. The flamboyant SmackDown star hasn’t been shy about flapping his lips and enraging every fan in sight with his cocky attitude, yet no Superstar has been able to shut the bleached-blonde blowhard up — including Jimmy Wang Yang, who fell to Ziggler tonight. Perhaps the arrogant Superstar will finally be at a loss for words when he faces The Great Khali at The Bash — their match was announced on tonight’s show.

Dolph Ziggler def. The Great Khali (disqualification)
While the referee was distracted, the incomparable Ziggler threw a chair toward The Great Khali before falling to the canvas as if injured. When the referee turned around, The Punjabi Playboy was holding the steel and was therefore disqualified. Once again, Ziggler appears to have outsmarted Khali, giving himself another victory over his irate adversary.

Dolph Ziggler def. The Great Khali (Count-out)
Up against a formidable foe in The Great Khali, Dolph Ziggler employed an interesting strategy to get the win. By grabbing hold of Khali’s interpreter, Ranjin Singh, and roughing him up, Ziggler knew he’d draw the attention of the 7-footer. With Singh in his grasp and Khali in pursuit, Ziggler waited until the last moment to jump back in the ring and avoid the referee’s 10-count.

Jeff Hardy & R-Truth def. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler
Thursday night was sure to end with fireworks during the main event, as it paired two in-ring veterans and former champions looking to gain momentum heading into the pay-per-view Sunday. Add in two of WWE’s fastest-rising Superstars, and the WWE Universe was in for a treat. Would it be the combination of Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler’s abrasive attitude and unrelenting punishment or the pairing of the high-flying, risk-taking North Carolinians in Jeff Hardy & R-Truth that would leave triumphant?

Despite a valiant effort from all four men involved in the match, it was the two Tar Heels and their combination of high-speed, risk-taking moves, that ended with caused their hands to be raised that night. After R-Truth used his entire body to take Jericho to the outside, Hardy nailed Ziggler with the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb. If this is any preview of Sunday night, World Heavyweight Champion Edge better take one long look at that title as The Extreme Enigma is going to do anything he needs to make sure that he is the one leaving New Orleans with the gold.

Main Eventing WWE Superstars
Posted by admin on June 1st, 2009. Add Comments? [1]

“From what I gather, the main event for WGN’s WWE Superstar broadcast that airs at 8 eastern and pacific is slated to be Jeff Hardy and R-Truth teaming up to take on Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler. Of course this is subject to change but if it does go down it should be an entertaining bout and certainly gives R-Truth and Ziggler some excellent exposure. I mentioned a few weeks ago that Ziggler was “Perfectly Rude” inferring that the Kent State Grad has Curt Hennig and Ric Rude-like tendencies which are good things in my view. Smackdown, so far as seemingly come out ahead on the WWE Draft or at least that my biased take on it.”

Jim Ross announced in a blog post this morning on his website, www.jrsbarbq.com, that R-Truth would be teaming up with Jeff Hardy to take on Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho at tonight’s Raw taping in Birmingham, Alabama.

Dolph Ziggler & The Undertaker… Summer Feud?
Posted by admin on June 1st, 2009. Add Comments? [1]

As reported earlier, Undertaker recently underwent arthroscopic hip surgery and is resting at his ranch in South Florida. He won’t be medically cleared to return to the squared circle until July or August, but should be back in time for SummerSlam.

Several ideas have already been pitched for his return to television including a program with rising SmackDown star Dolph Ziggler
