Its my birthday, and what does that hardest looking man in sports entertainment get?….. a lot of extra room in his suit case!

Everyone gets lucky sometimes, yet i never have, bc i never have needed to. and yet, i remain unfulfilled. my new outfit, my new girl, and my new title were all going to match! and now, with no gold, i refuse to walk the red carpet! i will get that title, and i will end rey mysterio’s “lucky” run.

I will just go to the gym, and have everyone there fawn over me, to make up for it. “yes, you know me from t.v, yes, i am much more handsome and shredded in person, and NO, i dont have time for YOU, (and thats just the guys.)

PHILADELPHIA – Young Dolph Ziggler has been trying to make a name for himself in WWE. He looked like he might succeed on this night, but veteran Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio said no how, no way.

If you are a regular SmackDown viewer, you had a hint of what Ziggler was capable of.

Just 48 hours before Night of Champions, Ziggler viciously assaulted Mysterio in his match against CM Punk on SmackDown. And on that same night, Ziggler defeated the veteran Finlay.

Also in recent SmackDown action, Ziggler paired with Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho to defeat Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio. And the week before, Ziggler viciously attacked Mysterio after a match with Chris Jericho.

After coming so close to gold, what is next from Ziggler? And, with gold firmly around Mysterio’s waist, who will be the next to challenge him?

Dolph Ziggler def. Finlay
With the biggest match of his career on the horizon this Sunday against Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio, Ziggler took on the veteran Finlay. After brawling with the Fighting Irishman outside the ring and driving him hard to the arena floor, the young Superstar was able to get back in the ring, avoid the ref’s 10-count, and pick up the win.

Rey Mysterio def. CM Punk (Disqualification; Non-Title)
In the night’s main event, it was a champion vs. champion war that ended in mayhem. After Mysterio thwarted the Go to Sleep from Punk, he hit the 619 on the heavyweight champion and went for the pinfall. But as the ref pounded out the three-count, Dolph Ziggler stormed into the ring at the last moment and attacked Mysterio. Ziggler’s interference resulted in an immediate disqualification for CM Punk.

But the action was far from over.

Mysterio battled back and had Ziggler set up for the 619, but The Straightedge Superstar stopped Mysterio in his tracks. Next, Ziggler launched a vicious assault on Mysterio. Then, before things could go from bad to even worse for Mysterio, Jeff Hardy came to Mysterio’s aid, driving Ziggler out of the ring. But it was Punk who got the final word in when he rushed in and dropped Hardy with the Go to Sleep.

What will happen on Sunday when all four Superstars will be in action again?

At Night of Champions, Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio will put his coveted title on the line against the up and coming Dolph Ziggler. And though the masked Superstar has already proven himself as a tremendous champion, Ziggler is quickly establishing that he knows how to win against the odds.

Since setting his own personal benchmark to carry on the proud tradition of the title he wears around his waist, Rey Mysterio has raised his level of competition to new heights. The great champions of the past must have been smiling as he engaged nine-time Intercontinental Champ Chris Jericho in numerous battles of epic proportions. And despite his many major accomplishments throughout his career, the high-flying champion has truly leaped to the top of his game in recent months.

Dolph Ziggler came to SmackDown as part of the 2009 Draft, promising that the WWE Universe would remember his name. What started as an open challenge to the SmackDown locker room ended with three consecutive victories over The Great Khali. And he has since followed that up with impressive victories over R-Truth & John Morrison. After tasting such high-profile success, a collision with a champion of Mysterio’s caliber was inevitable.

Two weeks prior to Night of Champions, after Mysterio overcame over Jericho on SmackDown, Ziggler suddenly came from nowhere to launch a sneak attack on the triumphant champion. After throwing to the waiting arms of Jericho and Edge, the confident Superstar finished him off with a vicious neckbreaker.

Rey Mysterio has shown his championship heroism time and time again. But as the emerging Dolph Ziggler prepares to compete in his second pay-per-view in a month, can the masked Superstar stop the momentum of the rising Superstar?

Backstage, Maria notices Dolph Ziggler doing push-ups as she approaches him. Dolph quickly informs Maria he has a match tonight, his first main event since his SmackDown debut, and tries to leave. Maria asks him to wait as she pulls him close, giving him a kiss for good luck, on his bicep.

Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler
World Champion, CM Punk, makes his way on out before the Main Event match begins. Jericho and Hardy begin the tag bout as Rey and Ziggler await their respective hot tags. Ziggler will compete at ‘Night of Champions’ to face Mysterio with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. By the time the two meet each other in the ring, things heat up! Before the match can officially end, the referee calls for the bell as CM Punk throws Jericho into Jeff Hardy as the action spilled to ringside. With Mysterio trying to break up the fight, Ziggler with a sneak attack takes him out of the picture. Ziggler hits his finisher, Blonde Ambition, to Mysterio at ringside as Jericho applies ‘The Walls of Jericho’ to Jeff Hardy from within the ring. CM Punk watches as he walks away, ending SmackDown.

Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio accepts Dolph Ziggler’s Night of Champion’s challenge
With a hard-fought title defense in the books last Friday, Mysterio was attacked from behind by Dolph Ziggler and on “WWE Superstars,” that was all that was on The Master of the 619’s mind. After a few moments, the Hollywood, Fla. native made his entrance, and then after a brief moment, enticed Mysterio to accept a challenge to defend the Intercontinental Title against Ziggler at Night of Champions. Accepting the challenge wasn’t all Rey wanted to do, as he lured the young brash Superstar to ringside and quickly attacked him before Ziggler could finally escape to the back. Does Mysterio have Ziggler right where he wants him? Or is The Master of the 619 playing into the Hollywood, Fla, native’s plans?
