Breakin’ Down SmackDown Results & Media

This week on SmackDown, fans are treated to a new champion, same pity party. WWE Women’s Champion, Mickie James, hits the center of the ring, equipped with a mic in hand (perhaps a change from the usual corndog), and tells fans that, pretty much, good girls finish first. She’s been tortured, tormented, and even humiliated at the hands and devious antics of Lay-Cool, but staying grounded and fighting for what she believed in finally paid off. Oh, take it to Oprah, Mickie.

Beth Phoenix interrupts Mickie’s coming out party, and reminds Mickie, that while she may have had her moment under the sun, capturing the Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble, she was busy making history by actually competing in the Royal Rumble. Sorry, but Chyna’s been there, done that, Bethy. A decade earlier, mind you. But she celebrates none the less. Beth reminds Mickie that at any time, any place, any where, she’ll be able to snatch the Women’s gold and become the new champion. Excuse me! I said, EXCUSE ME!!

Chime in the only baddest bizotch on the block that could hold a candle to Michelle McCruel, Vikki Guerrero. Vikki throws her weight around (not like Mickie, but her authority), informing both Mickie and Beth that if a Women’s Championship match were to take place, it’d be decided by her. She then tells the two new besties, that if they’re looking for a match, they’ll get one: with the true number one contender to the Women’s Championship, the fabulous, the fierce, the one, Michelle McCool (and her flying monkey, Layla).

We’re treated to a tag team match between team fierce & fabulous versus team butch & buffet. Michelle starts things off with Beth, and it isn’t pretty. It’s rather annoying how meek and waif-like Michelle comes across as she stands toe-to-toe with The Glamazon. Michelle’s portrayed as though she both fears Beth, and also finds her as a domineering threat. Okay, so maybe we’d all appear that way, but when you’re Michelle McCruel, you don’t let on to your weakness. Beth tosses Michelle around the ring, almost like a rag doll, with arm lifts and pushes into the corner. Michelle, always one for the technical aspect of the sport, finds herself engaging in a serious of leg punishing maneuvers and submission holds. Ever the mark that I am, it was exciting to see Michelle square off against Beth, but… c’mon now, really? Michelle could kill some serious tail, and we know it.

Butch tags in buffet. Mickie and Michelle lock up for a bit, all before Beth nails Mickie in the head with a killer stinger. Awkward, but really cool! The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? Wrong. While Michelle stood there for a second, pondering the many possibilities of shoe shopping and having some girl talk with her new bestie (you know, instead of actually taking advantage of the moment and pinning Mickie), Beth decides to level the playing field by sending Michelle flat on her ass, too. Beth leaves the ring with her usual snarky smirk, as Layla quickly accepts a pinfall via Mickie, just about as quickly as she entered the ring, telling Michelle she could finish the match. Great. You can walk to the next arena, Layla. But you’ll still look fabulous.

All in all, it was a rushed segment, but we still got our kicks. There’s no denying that Michelle’s loosing her momentum, as her actual career may be dwindling into the ‘comic relief’ segment of the show, but she’s good at what she does, and it all comes in peaks and valleys. She’s still the number one contender, and that’s all that counts. For now, anyway. On a side note, I do believe that it’s time for Michelle to invest in some new ring gear. She had a couple of minor ‘wardrobe malfunctions,’ where it was nothing too serious, but nothing as flattering, either. Oh, all mighty fashion reviews how we miss you. 2007 was all about the leggings, 2008 brought out the cross-stitching, and in 2009, Michelle gave fans the “booty shorts.” As Michelle chases the Women’s Championship in 2010, we’d like to see something a little different, something to change it up. If we issue you a fashion challenge, Michelle, would you accept?

Michelle vs. Mickie is next!

Stupid Michael Cole called it the Divas Title. Um, no. You clearly need to pay attention, Cole!

They do a recap of everything leading up to this match. When’s the last time the divas have had a video?!

Michelle is out first. No new attire or hoodie this week! No Layla either! Just her purple gear.

She has a mic! The crowd boos. HUSH PEOPLE! She says she’s here, ready to give everyone what they paid to see – her, and her defend her title. Sadly, Piggie James isn’t there. She asks if people have seen her. “Where oh where has my little Piggie gone? Where oh where can she be?” Layla’s been baking Mickie a cake.

Music hits and here comes Layla, whoops, Piggie James!

Uh oh… here comes the REAL Mickie James and she is running to the ring! She takes down Layla.

Mickie gets in the ring and the ref has to hold her back. The bell rings and here we go!

Michelle goes to kick Mickie, but misses and hits Layla. Mickie spins Michelle around, kicks her in the gut and hits her Mickie DDT. Cover: 1-2-3!

Here is your winner and the new Women’s Champion – Mickie James!

Layla comes in to help Michelle. Mickie kicks her in the head and she falls on top of Michelle.

All the divas come out with a HUGE cake. They hold Lay-Cool down and Mickie SLAMS the cake down on them. Lay-Cool is left in the ring, covered in cake! The Mean Girls of Smackdown cry and hold each other while Mickie and the rest of the divas celebrate up the ramp.

Breakin’ down Smackdown – Results & Media

After last week’s episode of Smackdown, many of us believed that it couldn’t be topped. It doesn’t get much better than throwing a cake in someone’s face after ridiculing them in front of thousands of fans. However we are dealing with the devilish diva duo of Michelle McCool and Layla. Lay-Cool have made each week of Smackdown something new, something fresh, and something hysterical! This week was no different.

Your Women’s Champion Michelle McCool came to the ring, ready for action. She was looking mighty fierce if we do say so ourselves! From head to toe (H2T!) she was on point. If that’s Michelle’s new ring gear, then consider it approved! (Speaking of ring attire, we can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing this Sunday at the Royal Rumble!)

The First Lady walked to the ring to inform us that Mickie James is gone for good! She went wee wee wee all the way back at the barnyard with all her other friends: Ms. Piggy, Babe, Porky and Piglet. Unfortunately for us that means we won’t get to see Michelle vs. Mickie at the Royal Rumble. So sad! But because Michelle is a great champion, a defending champion, she issued a challenge to any of the girls in the back to face her. Our champ has such integrity. Much to her chagrin, Mickie’s music sounded off through the arena. Have no fear, Layla Piggie James is here! Complete with fat suit, donuts and dancing! Shake it like a can of sprinkles at the donut shop, mama!

The match started with Michelle giving Piggie a light cardio work out. Once they got back into the ring, Michelle got the win in a matter of seconds. And yet people say she doesn’t defend her title, ha!

All joking aside, and it is hard to stop laughing, but work with us here. Sure this could be considered mean, but it is all kinds of hilarious! When have we ever seen this much, dare we say, charisma, from Michelle? Heck, when have we ever heard her talk this much? Mean or not, this has given all of the divas on Smackdown (with the exception of Natalya) the time and opportunity to shine. The last time there was such a buzz about what the divas were doing, Trish was fending off a psychotic Mickie James.

The Royal Rumble is only days away. At some point the commentators asked what state of mind Mickie would be in for the match. Maybe the aforementioned psychotic Mickie will make her return at the Rumble. Michelle has put the girl through hell, there is no denying that. Last week could have been her breaking point. Michelle’s pushed her buttons nonstop. For all we know, Mickie may not even care about the title any more. The only thing on her mind could be getting her hands on Michelle and really making a statement. A DQ ending? It would be very interesting… As we’ve mentioned week after week, Beth Phoenix has been a big question mark during all this. One week she’s helping Mickie, the next she’s kicking her butt. As a competitor, she has her eyes on the gold. She didn’t seem too pleased with Michelle’s and Layla’s comments last month about large women. Beth has faced Mickie and beaten her before. She’s also defeated Michelle, but never for a championship. Getting revenge and another title reign? Beth probably wouldn’t want to pass that up.

Thankfully we only have to wait 48 hours before we find out! We’re looking forward to seeing Michelle walk into Atlanta as champion and also walking into Phoenix as champion. We have faith, do you?

The underfed redhead says…

Given you placed 5th in the 2004 Raw Diva search, I would say you’re the most successful Diva from that year. What makes you stand out from the rest?
I think me and Michelle McCool are very fortunate to still be around after all these years. I think one of my favourite things that has happened so far was winning the Diva of the year. It’s really amazing to be so appreciated by the fans and I am definitely humbled by that.

We see you’re very active on Twitter. Who are the top 5 people you MUST follow in your opinion?
You must follow me! Also Pink, Ashton Kutcher, though he doesn’t post so much any more, Mickie James because she’s funny and Michelle McCool so you can see how twisted she can be.

-Silvervision Interview

Being back at WWE and seeing what Michelle and Layla are doing makes me sick. Mickie is a friend and she has been a leader in female wrestling and now all they can focus on is some phantom pounds. I mean really?? When in wrestling has it been a good idea to be stick thin? Strong? Sexy? Powerful? Sexy comes in all different forms and it isn’t just the models of the world. I do love models, I used to be one, but that isn’t the only definition of sexy. Come on, the average woman in America is a size 12. And women are getting married, getting rich, and getting f@#$%& just fine at that size. So, maybe there is more to being sexy than how many doughnut you did or didn’t eat. Sexy is being confident. It is obvious to me that Michelle and Layla walking around with there noses in the air just shows how insecure they are. Hmmm… insults usually mean you are jealous. So, maybe Scary and Skinny Spice are just unhappy in their own skin.

I am FLAWED and Team Laycool say they are simply flawless but I think they are small minded. Just because they have each other doesn’t mean it is enough. Divas are supposed to be role models but Team WeThinkWeAreCool are just wanna be mean girls.

I hope that Mickie takes the Championship from Michelle on sunday to teach her a lesson. Then, team Laycool can be TEAM LayDownLosers so Mickie can pin you. Mickie for WOMAN’s Champion cause she is a real woman!!

New Candids!

Thanks to TazzFTAlliance we now have 45 candid pictures of Michelle at a SmackDown taping in Rockford, Illinois last September. Most of us remember that night because of the backstage bit that will forever live on as one of the greatest moments in Michelle McCool history! Oh yes, this was the night that Michelle got her a handful of Dolph Ziggler. Too bad that was all… Here’s hoping we’ll get a sequel in 2010!

Happy Birthday, Chelle, Mac, MiMi, MC Cool…

“Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Ms. Fabulous, Happy Birthday to youuuuuu!!!”

Thirty years ago today, Terry and Mary McCool gave birth to perfection (sorry, Dolph Ziggler). Michelle Leigh McCool was born seven pounds even, and twenty inches long! The future sports all-star would later dominate classrooms and wrestling rings around the world, equipped with Brains (Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership), Beauty (WWE Covergirl), and Brawn (WWE Women’s & Divas Champion). This triple-threat, small town girl, has touched so many hearts, raised so many smiles, and continues to entertain and make her parents proud. Today is the day we celebrate the life and achievement of Michelle McCool! Happy Birthday, Michelle! WE LOVE YOU!

In honor of her 30th Birthday, Michelle is throwing a bash of an interview with her fans, all about, what else? Birthdays! Get to know Michelle a little better, as she opens up about the many (or not so many) birthday’s she had. From giggly moments, to strict memories, Michelle dishes it all. Did you know she doesn’t like chocolate? *Collective gasp* We know.

If Michelle McCool at thirty could give advice to Michelle McCool at age twenty, what would she say her future beholds? What would she tell her not to worry about, and what advice could you give her about loving life and dreaming big?

She’d say don’t worry…you only have one more semester of college before you’re finished! Then she’d tell her not to stress over the fact that she doesn’t know EXACTLY what she wants to do. She’d tell her to continue to try to make other people happy because that’s truly what makes her the happiest. She’d tell her to make sure she makes every moment count, learns from every mistake & continue to try to grow as a person each day! She’d say, go for it – you’ve got nothing to lose & you know your parents have got your back :)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd… we’re not finished yet! What would a birthday be without some special birthday wishes, huh? We’ve collected exclusive comments and wishes for the baddest heel in high heels the WWE has to offer! Listed below are some of the most important people in Michelle’s life that wanted nothing more than to wish her a Happy Birthday on her special day! A big thanks to all of you who were able to help us pull this off! Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday!!!

Michelle: Happy Birthday!!! It is always good to spend time with you and it was especially nice to be able to share an early birthday dinner with you and Mr. Tony. We love you and have the best birthday ever! Love, Mom and Dad

Lil sis- I can still call you my little sister, but now that you’ve hit the big THREE-O, I will refrain from ever calling you my younger sister. I mean, technically you ARE younger, but you ARE getting old! You know I love you either way. Congrats on everything, and Happy Birthday!!!!
- Jeff

Happy 30th Birthday! We know we are getting old when the only thing you want for your Birthday is not to be reminded of it! :) You are so special to me…I look forward to enjoying our friendship for many more of your Birthdays! I love you!!
