During Michelle’s time with WWE, she’s had her ups and downs. Some moments have left us literally jumping up and down, screaming and cheering her on. Others have made us scratch our heads and wonder who the heck thought that up. But no matter how bad an outfit or how bad a feud, we’ve never been ashamed to call ourselves a Michelle McCool fan. Below is a list of what we consider to be Michelle’s top five ‘hits’ and top five ‘misses.’
5. WWE Universe Blogs & Pictures JOSIE: Face it, Michelle McCool spoils her fans. She spoils the BEJSUS out of us. There isn’t a single WWE Diva on the active roster that doesn’t stay more in-tune with their fans than Michelle McCool. The First Lady of SmackDown is also the First Lady of Blogging. Michelle loves to keep her fans updated, because she knows we love it! She isn’t afraid to address rumors, shoot them down, and even sound off on what’s being said at the water cooler. She’s often updating her WWE Universe profile with personal photos from her collection, and then, listening to her fans opinions with what kind of photos they’d like for her to take. Granted, we’re still waiting for her “Lady GaGa” themed spread, but hey… we’ll take what we can get!
KATY: One of the things that Michelle does that gets so much recognition are her blog and photo updates she does on her Universe page. Not a lot of wrestlers or divas do this, and for Michelle to let the fans get a glimpse into her life? That’s really something and it deserves to be noticed. She takes the time out of her schedule to keep us updated and show us pictures we wouldn’t see otherwise. To say we mark out when there’s a new update is an understatement!
4. 2007 Holiday Special ‘Front & Center’ Cover
JOSIE: Any true Michelle fan would agree one moment that had them ‘McMark’ was Michelle’s first WWE magazine cover. Who is hotter than the two bombshells WWE takes such great pride in? Michelle McCool, of course! Candice Michelle and Kelly Kelly received the backseat treatment as Michelle (in all her glory) took to the front and center. Unfortunately, while this milestone in Michelle’s marketability aspect of her WWE career had hit an all-time high, behind the scenes, Michelle had been hospitalized, forbidding her to bask in much of the success with her fans.
KATY: Playboy please! Michelle made the cover of WWE magazine and joined the likes of girls such as Trish Stratus, Torrie Wilson and Stacy Keibler, all former cover girls. She was joined by fellow divas Candice and Kelly, but it was Michelle was dead center with that coy glance over her shoulder.
3. Memorial Day Bikini Battle Royal
JOSIE: What a HUGE moment! An unexpected win for McCool, as nobody had figured she would pick up such a victory on WWE’s “flagship” show, RAW. Not only were fans amazed at Michelle’s athleticism, but she was absolutely stunning in her bikini! The end would result in not only taking out then WWE Women’s Champion, Melina, but Michelle kicked off her “All-American” angle with photo shoots and video montages. The beginning of her road to the top of WWE’s totem pole kicked off with a great (and unforgettable) start!
KATY: Possibly Michelle’s hottest moment. First off, this match took place in Canada, bizarre-o land, but I distinctly remember a “This is awesome” chant! Michelle was looking all kinds of sexy in her polka dot bikini. She got to show off some killer new moves and really impressed people. Not to mention, it was her hand that was raised at the end of the match.
2. Ms. SmackDown
JOSIE: I’ve always said that Michelle McCool is the “First Lady of SmackDown” and the recognition of “Ms. SmackDown” only further supports my statement. It was a huge moment for Michelle, as it put her in the ranks as the ‘Top Diva’ status with the best of them. Even though she was rewarded with a chopper she admits she still hasn’t quite figured out, she’s gained much more. The respect and attention of her fellow peers and critics. All salute the First Lady of SmackDown!
KATY: Next to winning a title for the first time, being voted a favorite by the fans themselves is amazing! If it wasn’t for all the fans, there would be no WWE and ultimately no Michelle McCool. After weeks of bikini contests, obstacle courses, arm wrestling and tag matches, Michelle was crowned Ms. Smackdown by the WWE Universe!
1. Divas Championship
JOSIE: Clearly the staple in Michelle McCool’s crowning achievement is capturing the Divas Championship. As the title’s inaugural champion, Michelle represents the blood, sweat and tears the SmackDown Divas of past and present have fought long and hard for: a legitimate ambition. Finished are the days to prove who looks the best in a bikini while on the blue brand, but now who has what it takes to become Blue’s best. While the title has now departed to Team Red, forever holds Michelle McCool’s name in the record books, etching her name into WWE History forever.
KATY: Well duh. As if there were any questions as to what Michelle’s greatest hit was! Becoming the first ever Divas Champion is a huge accomplishment and Michelle deserved that belt. Now it’s only a matter of time before she’s the first diva to win both the Divas and Women’s titles.
5. Black & Blue Photo SessionJOSIE: As a big fan of Michelle McCool, and in a world where she can hardly do any wrong, I am more than happy to go as far as ripping her a new one for this HORRIBLE & INEXCUSABLE photo shoot! I love me some Michelle McCool, and I love me some fashion… you put both of those together, and you’ve got quite the happy camper when it comes to this humble, easy-to-please fan. However, when WWE.Com had posted the ‘Black & Blue’ photo shoot; I have never been so offended in my Internet life! Braided Heidi pigtails? A loose and lanky sequin top? Sky-blue leggings with a chunky belt? Child, please. Forget the fashion police, the Fashion FBI, CSI and the whole cast of Grey’s Anatomy came out for this tragedy! On top of that, Michelle just wasn’t working the poses or the facials. It’s as if she had gone into the photo shoot in a morbid state of mind. Note to McCool: NEVER. AGAIN.
KATY: Because I’m not that much into fashion, I’m very easy to please with photo shoots. There are very few Michelle shoots that I’ll say I dislike, but this one might just have to go down as one of the very worst. Leggings? That top? The wonky poses? No thank you! Even though Josie hated the hair, that was my only saving grace.
4. SummerSlam 2008 w/ Beth Phoenix
JOSIE: What a moment! For those of us who are avid Diva fans, we knew for weeks that there was much talk about Michelle McCool possibly winning the Divas Battle Royal for Candice Michelle’s WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Even though Michelle had been on the opposing brand, this match looked to be her window of opportunity of finally capturing gold! As the ladies fell and flew thru and beyond the ropes one by one, Michelle’s chances looked greater and greater by each passing second. And then… there were two! Even for just a few shy seconds, the possibility of Michelle McCool taking Beth Phoenix out looked to be an attainable task; she just might get that Championship match after all! But, alas… it was not to be. Beth squashed her in .02 seconds, and the rest is history. Close, but no cigar.
KATY: Beth and Michelle have had several encounters, this one left a lot to be desired. Sure we got more out of them later, but this was at a huge PPV! Surely they could’ve battled it out a little longer. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Michelle lost. What an upset it would have been for Michelle McCool to eliminate the Glamazon, Beth Phoenix!
3. Losing Divas Championship
JOSIE: It was the inevitable. We all knew that it was bound to happen soon enough, and to be quite honest, I wasn’t as devastated that Maryse became Michelle’s successor. What I didn’t like, as you may figure by now, was the fact that Maria was apart of Michelle’s storyline. But, it did make for an interesting next couple of weeks. Michelle finally turned a new leaf and became the bag girl that most of us love, and beating on poor ol’ Maria was just peachy. Honestly, losing the Divas Championship seems a bit obligatory to toss into this countdown, but, the rain pours on your parade when you’re no longer number one.
KATY: Boooooooo! What a bummer this was. Sure it started Michelle’s heel turn, but nobody wants to see their favorite lose a match, especially a championship match. This loss put a big ol’ nasty black mark on Michelle’s record. I guess you win some and you lose some. However, I am with Josie.. I wasn’t boohoo sad over it. We got a killer heel turn out of the deal, along with Maria getting her butt handed to her. That’s always glorious!
2. Teacher’s Pets
JOSIE: K.C. James and Idol Stevens. Remember them? Hardly? That’s okay, we’re pretty sure Michelle forgot about them, too. This was the most awkward and spontaneous pairing if I ever did see one. Not only did Michelle and “her boys” miss out by not even sharing one fraction of an iota as far as chemistry was concerned, but… the team, in general, was quite boring. Yeah, I said it. I don’t even know if boring is the right word in this case. Michelle was hot off of her return to SmackDown as the new ‘Hot for Teacher’ Diva, and all of a sudden, WWE throws a damper on the firecracker. The Teacher’s Pet era hadn’t created many memorable moments, but if you’re a fashionista like me, Michelle did have one hell of a wardrobe back then!
KATY: Why? What did these guys do? I mean they weren’t exactly attractive and most of their matches I’ve forgotten. What I remember about the Teacher’s Pets is who their teacher was. Sorry boys, but you stunk it up. I can’t remember their names and even if I could, I couldn’t put a name to a face. Whoops!
1. Feuding with Maria
JOSIE: So perhaps this is being a little more than biased to say the biggest flop in Michelle McCool’s career is feuding with Maria, but hey… it’s the truth, as far as I’m concerned anyway. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Maria could be Michelle McCool’s best friend backstage, she could be a total sweetheart to the homeless and even discover the cure for cancer; I’m just not a fan. I knew the moment Maria was drafted to SmackDown I’d have a lot on my plate to swallow, and boy, was I ever right. Awkward matches, exaggerated facial expressions all topped with diabolical fashion that should have never been produced, Maria slowed down Michelle’s swagger. It was embarrassing. If nothing else, Michelle got to beat the crapolla out of Maria. And well, I guess there’s the silver lining.
KATY: Sorry, but what was the point? Maria’s nowhere near Michelle’s level and as much as Michelle tried, their matches weren’t exactly spectacular. This is professional wrestling and it got so annoying to see Maria backstage, sketching a new outfit or showing off her latest designs. If she wanted to do that, then leave and quit wasting our time. I guess the best part was seeing Michelle endlessly kick her butt.

Yep. I completely agree with what you gals just said! Especially the bit about her WWE Universe profile. She’s just…great especially on there. It’s not just her personal blogs or her personal photos, it’s the fact she listens to her fans. A few months back on Feb 1st 2009(the day of Super Bowl XLIII) I simply asked Michelle, being the big sports fan she is, if she’d be watching the Super Bowl later that day and since I know she loves reading inspirational quotes I also left her a couple quotes to read. A few hours later, Michelle McCool, the boss lady herself actually responded. I know she says she reads all the comments she receives but I didn’t know she’d respond so soon especially with her very busy schedule. Anyway this is the comment she left me:
‘Yeah, go Steelers!:) Thanks for the great quotes…I may have to use those in my next blog if it’s ok with you
Have a great day’
Well, she didn’t use the exact quotes in her next blog but she did use a couple of other quotes I sent her in her blog which was the one called ‘Home sweet home again….’ she didn’t mention me but I know those were the quotes I sent her. Anyway, I agree with you gals and I love the fact she listens to her fans on there.
