Breakin’ down Smackdown! Results & Media

The Match. Michelle was once again at ringside. I don’t get it. How come when I do the break down of Smackdown!, she isn’t in the match?! Shenanigans!! Anyway, Alicia Fox and Melina battled it out with Melina getting the win. It was also announced that at The Bash, Melina will defend her title against Michelle. After the match came the good stuff, for McCool fans anyway. After checking on her friend (I use the term loosely), Michelle went after the Women’s Champion. First off, I have to say I was impressed with the beat down. Not only was it brutal, but Michelle did it in her heels! Usually she kicks them off, and I can’t blame her. But this time around, she kept the boots on and kicked Melina right in her head. The two divas then take it to the outside, rather Michelle throws Melina to the outside and follows. I believe the last time we saw Michelle ram her knee into someone’s head was several months ago when Maria was the victim. Good times, good times. This time it was Melina who received the Randy Orton-like attack to the head. The icing on the cake came when Michelle picked up a microphone and told the world that she will once again make history by becoming the first ever woman to hold the Divas and Women’s titles. She also let Melina know that not only will she beat her at The Bash, she’s going to humiliate her. You go girl!

The Storyline. Alicia has been a wild card throughout everything. This week though, Michelle showed a little more concern and was at ringside, tossing out pointers. Maybe they do have a genuine friendship going on. Or maybe Alicia will cost Michelle the title. The match has been officially announced. At The Bash Michelle’s going to have her shot for the title. This feud has been nice. It may not have been something crazy like “she stole my boyfriend, now I’m going to kick her butt,” but it was still nice and an ol’ fashioned title chase. There’s been a nice build up and lots of sneaky actions done by Michelle, and her pal Alicia. Melina has gotten retribution in a face to face way, getting the fans behind her. Last year, the Bash was in July, this year it’s June. However it’s still technically the same PPV where Michelle won the Divas Title. It’d be pretty cool to see her win the Women’s Title at the same show only a year later. We still have one week to go before the PPV. I don’t want to see Michelle and Melina get their hands on each other again. I think a “Pick Your Poison” type scenario could be interesting, especially if Melina picked a returning Candice to be Michelle’s opponent. Then, after Michelle wins the title, she and Candice can have that Faith Feud I’ve only been rambling about for months on end now. As for Melina’s opponent, let her have a go with Natalya. ….scratch the Candice bit, just found out she’s been released. Darn it, now we’ll never get the Faith thing. SIGH!! Okay so maybe Melina could pick Mickie. Sure she’s on Raw, but they have exciting matches and there’s really nobody else that would be interesting. Or we can toss that entire idea out the window and wait to see what actually happens next week.

The Fashion. I’ll admit that when I first saw pictures of Michelle’s attire I was thinking, “No.” But after seeing her on TV, I’ve changed my mind. I loved the shorts and boots. It’s always great when she chooses to show off those legs. The top I guess I’m still a little iffy on. I think maybe it was too much white, and personally I’ve never been a fan of that style. Ever since Jennifer Lopez sported that cut I just couldn’t think of anything else but, “If she sneezes, there’s going to be a major wardrobe malfunction.” Needless to say, when Michelle started her attack on Melina I had my fingers crossed that she used plenty of tape. I’m thinking a top more like this would have been cuter. Or maybe it would have been too “Little House on the Prairie.” On to the hair… she straightened it, yay!!! If she would have pinned the bangs back it would have been perfect! Maybe some day they’ll be gone and never return…
