The Match: This week on the Blue Brand, SmackDown fans were treated to a 6-Diva Tag Team match between WWE Women’s Champion, Melina, Eve Torres and Gail Kim versus Future WWE Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool, Alicia Fox and Layla. Maria – remember her? – was the special guest referee. Team McCool picks up the victory, and rightfully so. Michelle hadn’t had as much ring-time during the match as much as her fans would like, but for her time spent in the ring, she definitely made it count. With a blind tag to A-Fox, Michelle makes her way into the ring, ready to square off against Gail Kim. Not having forgotten the last time Maria wore the official stripes, she gave her a warning to call the match correctly before nailing Kim in the midsection. Great chemistry topped off with an impact spot that saw Michelle countering Gail’s hurricanrana! First having powerbombed Gail into the ropes, only to have her tossed over Michelle shoulders, planting face-first into the mat. McCool would later tag out and let Layla finish the match against the Women’s Champ, Melina – only after Michelle has nailed her ‘big boot’ to the back of Melina’s head, causing a great distraction. Someone get Melina an icepack, Michelle’s out for the Gold, and nothing will get in her way.

The Storyline: It’s always great to see Michelle vs. The World these days; with Melina, Gail and Eve all on the opposing end, Michelle might as well have taken them on… all on her lonesome! They’ve all ate the sweet defeat courtesy of McCool, as she has basked in the victorious spoils, once towering over each of them after their three second tan. With Layla and Alicia playing back up, I think we all know by now that the First Lady of SmackDown is perfectly capable of overcoming the odds and rising to any challenge. Three-on-one? Peace of cake. However, this was the perfect way to put over Alicia, and especially Layla, all while Michelle remains in the spotlight. Michelle gave Melina quite the kick to the ole’ Big Head, which gave an entry and an opportunity for Layla to take advantage of. This only adds fuel to the fire in a heated feud brewing between Melina and Michelle McCool. Add to that, Michelle still has the #1 Contender rights to Melina’s championship lingering over the champion. Hopefully Michelle will get her shot at the championship rather soon, perhaps by ‘The Bash?

The Fashion: There really is much to take note of other than the fact that Michelle had choose from her collection one of her better wrestling attires as her ring gear for the night. Love the black sequins number, she wears it very well. Oh, right, her hair you might ask? Fabulous! We’ve been waiting for Michelle to wear her hair a bit straighter and to keep it subtle and simple, and it’s quite the look. It’s very refreshing to see Michelle tame it down a bit. Yes, we’re a big fan of Michelle’s fierce fashion velocity, but even we know a breather is always necessary. However, we’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again. AVIATOR SUNGLASSES. Michelle’s got the heel attitude down to the ‘T’, but why not add some extra style and a statement while you’re at it? Only the truly fabulous wear their shades on Friday night!
