The Down but NEVER Out Interview with Michelle McCool!

Michelle McCool is back and meaner than ever! Maybe not meaner, but she certainly has an opinion and she’s not afraid to let it be known! She may be down with a knee injury, but she’s certainly not out. The Women’s Champion took some time out of her schedule to answer even more crazy and insightful questions for an exclusive interview with us. From discussing the haters and “stealing” moves, to her measurements and her favorite match, all the way to her always improving promos and how a WWE.com Diva Photoshoot works, Michelle spares no details this time around!

MM.net: Over two-thousand votes were cast by your faithful fans on MichelleMcCool.Net, and Melina vs. Michelle has been voted as our favorite feud. This comes as no real surprise to us, as the both of you share great chemistry with one-another. A modern day Lita vs. Trish Stratus, if you will! As the story between the two of you continues to unfold, what can you promise your viewers and readers for the future? Our tongues are wagging for a chair shot, you know…
MM: Thank you! Melina has been great to work with and our NOC match is by far my all time favorite. I am very proud of that match and what we were able to do….work wise, psychology wise, everything! :) It was great to put our minds together and go, “What could we do that hasn’t been done before?” It was actually nice because even a few of the guys said, “Man, I wish I would have thought of that!” :) We don’t always get opportunities, so we wanted to take full advantage of it. Things have definitely changed, and continue to, as far as the role of divas in wrestling. It’s just refreshing when you receive a lot of praise and appreciation for an actual wresting match. I would give anything to have a no DQ match, a street fight, something. I can promise you this….it’d be one you wouldn’t forget! Blood sweat and tears…it’d all be left in the arena!!!

MM.net: Not too long ago, Jillian Hall shared with WWE magazine readers about the road trip from hell that she and you took part in for the “You Had to Be There” feature. Mind you, as much as we love and adore you, we’re a little intimidated to sit in the passenger seat with you behind the wheel. Sharp turns and road rage guarantee us a purchase of Pepto Bismol and a roll of Tums. It’s time to redeem yourself – and throw someone else under the bus! Please do share any fun road trip story about a fellow or former WWE Diva!
MM: She and I were just talking about that at SummerSlam. They totally got the story completely wrong! Jillian was driving and she is a MANIAC, and that is a true story!!!

MM.net: Stop! Thief! Recently a whole legion of “fans” with nothing else better to do, accuse you of ‘stealing’ finishers from wrestlers of another organization. Now, a good majority of us know that unless it’s The Pedigree or Sweet Chin Music (har, har), it’s all pretty much fair game and that moves are used and recycled often and everyday. Our question: do you continue to fight the good fight and explain yourself, or move on to something else? We hear Petey Williams has a pretty cool finisher!
MM: Yeah, that seems to be the hot topic with some Twitter “fans!” 99% of the time I move on. Sometimes, and normally only when people are out of line with their message, I answer to entertain myself. Regardless, the answer is always the same. From headlocks to rollups, it’s all been done before – yadayadayada. Plus, it works! Why would I not want to do it?

MM.net: You’re listed as one of the sexiest women on television. As girls though, we always have something about ourselves that we don’t like. We already know that you love your smile, but is there anything about yourself that you’re self conscious about?
MM: Of course, I think we all have something that we are self conscious about and I sometimes think it just depends on the day! But bottom line is, none of us are perfect and we should all just be thankful for what God gave us!

MM.net: If someone were to gather up pictures from your early WWE photoshoots and compare them to today’s work, they’d see such an evolution. So not only are you evolving in the ring, but in front of the camera as well! Do you keep your eyes in fashion magazines; are your fellow Divas giving you tips; do you have Tyra Banks on speed dial? What’s your secret to this evolution process?
MM: First, thanks a million! I guess it’d just be becoming more confident in front of the camera!

MM.net: Speaking of improvement, your greatest fans and even worst critics can agree in unison that you’re really ‘stepping it up’ in the mic department. Have you been taking acting lessons, or do you have a secret to your ever-improving promos?
MM: Well, thank you because that is obviously my weakest point. Yes, I have been taking some lessons and hope to get better each time!

MM.net: At WrestleMania 25, you made your debut in a Ms. WrestleMania Battle Royal. In that match were divas from the past including your favorite diva, Molly Holly. What was it like getting to work with her and were you able to talk with her during the big weekend?
MM: It was awesome! I’m such a dork! I kept telling her how excited I was. I could only imagine what it would have been like to work with her in her day!

MM.net: We all know that there are tons of rumors made up about you. Tons! It’s ridiculous. For people that supposedly dislike you, they sure spend a lot of time talking about you. If you could make up a rumor about yourself – the crazier the better – what would you say?
MM: Good point! I’ve never understood that myself. I don’t know and why bother, right? Everyone does it for me! Saves me the trouble. :)

MM.net: Even though wrestling fans can be cruel, so can kids. Braces, weight, glasses, freckles – all of those things are targets for mean jokes. Growing up did you ever get teased or called names? If you did, did you beat them up?
MM: True that! Of course I got teased and I’m sure I got called names. Nine times out of ten though it was by my brother or cousins.

MM.net: Professional wrestling isn’t the only industry in the world with secrets and gossip. The celebrities get stories made up about them just as much as you! We admit that we read the juicy stories. Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse are just a few names we get excited for. Are you just as guilty in finding a little gossip bliss in the tabloids as we are?
MM: I do love the gossip magazines :) What a waste though; they all say the same thing.

MM.net: We need to get something off our chest: Lady GaGa! Your trademark bangs (which have since joined the dearly departed) had been such an Internet craze amongst your fans, that it drew frequent comparisons to Lady GaGa and her Gagorgous bangs. While we doubt that she was your inspiration (even though we’d like to pretend), you had to have noticed the striking similarities between yourself and Gagaloo. What are your raw thoughts on the fierce and fabulous one – and will we ever get a ‘GaGa-inspired’ shoot out of you?
MM: Well, I cut the bangs on a whim and ended up liking them! I’ll have to look into what a “GaGa inspired shoot” would be exactly…who knows, maybe? :)

MM.net: Obviously, we can’t get enough of your fashion over at MichelleMcCool.Net – so why not just get down to the nitty of it all: what are your measurements and what size shoe do you take? We’d like to think you’ll give Stacy Keibler a run for her money in the legs department, too. So if you have a tape-measure handy, what are the digits from hip to toe?
MM: 34-26-36 and a 9 1/2 shoe. I don’t have a tape measure handy so I’ll have to look into that one. :)

MM.net: Alexandar McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Prada and Coco Chanel have all become a staple in the fashion industry. Who are some of your favorite fashion designers?
MM: Oh wow! I’m not that fancy. You know my motto: confidence is key. If you’re confident, you can make a pair of sweatpants look sexy!

MM.net: Speaking of fashion, you were on “Project Runway” a couple of season’s ago. What was it like to be apart of America’s favorite reality competition show? Did you get any good fashion tips, and more importantly, what’s Heidi Klum like?
MM: That was a ton of fun and Heidi Klum was awesome! She’s just as witty and beautiful in person as she is on tv!

MM.net: You have a lot of jewelry. From necklaces to bracelets to rings, it seems as though Michelle McCool never leaves the house without some bling. Our question is, which piece is your favorite and why?
MM: I’m not sure about that. I do have that silver and black bracelet that I wear alot. I got it from Torrie and I love it. It’s just one of those pieces that goes with everything and can add a lot of sparkle to an outfit. When all else fails, accessorize!!! :)

MM.net: We’re hoping you can clear something up for us. A lot of fans complain about the way WWE.com does photoshoots. Sometimes we get shoot after shoot of the same girl, and nothing of the others. How do the shoots work? Do you get called in to do them? Do you shoot several in one day? Or is it up to the girls to decide when they take pictures?
MM: Believe me, I wish I got it too. Supposedly, the girls are on a rotation. You do the shoots when you’d like and whenever you have spare time. So, in essence, it’s up to the girls to shoot and then it’s up to dotcom as to when and who they post.

MM.net: One of World Wrestling Entertainment’s most infamous moments had to have been during the 2004 Diva Search. Now, even though you had long since parted ways in the competition early on, WWE came up with the great idea of “Diss the Diva” for the final four contestants. Unscripted, unpredicted, and straight RAW! Prior to the competition combat, Maria flipped the bird on live television – two of them, she definitely set the tone for what was about to unfold! What were your initial thoughts towards that segment, and how glad are you to not have been apart of that disaster?
MM: I was actually very happy to not be in that segment!!!! That is something I don’t like to do and I NEVER would have said the things that came out of some of the girls mouths that night. I just don’t think it was called for.

MM.net: WWE is already in the movie making business. Let’s pretend that Vince McMahon decides to break into the reality TV business. If you could choose five divas and superstars to be on the show, who would you choose?
MM: I’d go for Chavo Guerrero, Layla, MVP, Hornswoggle and Tommy Dreamer!

MM.net: Your good friend Torrie Wilson has mentioned you several times in various interviews. What do you think about her never having a title run? Would you have liked to defend your Divas (or even your Women’s) title against her?
MM: I think that she totally deserved a title run. I’m not sure there will be another diva with her popularity. She is the most incredible, genuine person who deserves nothing but the best. Would I defend it against her? Of course because it’d mean she’d be on the road with me again. :)

MM.net: We’ve been to WWE shows before and we’ve seen some of the fans. There are some crazy people in attendance and no doubt there are crazy people at signings or who approach you guys in airports, restaurants, etc. What has been one of the weirdest fan encounters you’ve had?
MM: A marriage proposal from a ‘creepy guy,’ bended knee and all! It wasn’t that long ago either.

MM.net: If there’s a Lady GaGa or Shania Twain song on the radio, you can bet Josie and I are singing along. Is there any song that you can’t help but sing along with every time you hear it?
MM: Too many to name!!! I can’t sing, but I’ll dang sure try. :)

MM.net: Tattoos have been a popular body decoration for quite some time, especially with wrestlers. Even some of the divas have been getting some ink work done. Is there any chance you might get a tattoo? What might be something you would get and where?
MM: Not at all, never been interested. I just think that there would be one day that I’d ask myself, “Why did I do that?”

MM.net: You have possibly the best stomach out of all of the Divas. What’s your secret? A thousand crunches a day?
MM: Thank you so much. I don’t know that I agree with that, but to answer your question – no. I guess all I can say is, “Thanks Mom!” :)

MM.net: You like to set goals for yourself (as should everyone), and your fans enjoy watching you ahcieve your goals. Divas Championship – check! Women’s Championship – check! Wrestlemania – check! What are some of your new goals? Stealing Dolph Ziggler from Maria, perhaps?
MM: Umm… sorry Josie, but that’s a negative. I may steal him just to make Maria mad, but I don’t want him. :) New goals:
Keep the Women’s Championship
Heal my knee completely
Be in a match with 4 or less divas at WM26!
