Breakin’ down Smackdown – Results & Media

After last week’s episode of Smackdown, many of us believed that it couldn’t be topped. It doesn’t get much better than throwing a cake in someone’s face after ridiculing them in front of thousands of fans. However we are dealing with the devilish diva duo of Michelle McCool and Layla. Lay-Cool have made each week of Smackdown something new, something fresh, and something hysterical! This week was no different.

Your Women’s Champion Michelle McCool came to the ring, ready for action. She was looking mighty fierce if we do say so ourselves! From head to toe (H2T!) she was on point. If that’s Michelle’s new ring gear, then consider it approved! (Speaking of ring attire, we can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing this Sunday at the Royal Rumble!)

The First Lady walked to the ring to inform us that Mickie James is gone for good! She went wee wee wee all the way back at the barnyard with all her other friends: Ms. Piggy, Babe, Porky and Piglet. Unfortunately for us that means we won’t get to see Michelle vs. Mickie at the Royal Rumble. So sad! But because Michelle is a great champion, a defending champion, she issued a challenge to any of the girls in the back to face her. Our champ has such integrity. Much to her chagrin, Mickie’s music sounded off through the arena. Have no fear, Layla Piggie James is here! Complete with fat suit, donuts and dancing! Shake it like a can of sprinkles at the donut shop, mama!

The match started with Michelle giving Piggie a light cardio work out. Once they got back into the ring, Michelle got the win in a matter of seconds. And yet people say she doesn’t defend her title, ha!

All joking aside, and it is hard to stop laughing, but work with us here. Sure this could be considered mean, but it is all kinds of hilarious! When have we ever seen this much, dare we say, charisma, from Michelle? Heck, when have we ever heard her talk this much? Mean or not, this has given all of the divas on Smackdown (with the exception of Natalya) the time and opportunity to shine. The last time there was such a buzz about what the divas were doing, Trish was fending off a psychotic Mickie James.

The Royal Rumble is only days away. At some point the commentators asked what state of mind Mickie would be in for the match. Maybe the aforementioned psychotic Mickie will make her return at the Rumble. Michelle has put the girl through hell, there is no denying that. Last week could have been her breaking point. Michelle’s pushed her buttons nonstop. For all we know, Mickie may not even care about the title any more. The only thing on her mind could be getting her hands on Michelle and really making a statement. A DQ ending? It would be very interesting… As we’ve mentioned week after week, Beth Phoenix has been a big question mark during all this. One week she’s helping Mickie, the next she’s kicking her butt. As a competitor, she has her eyes on the gold. She didn’t seem too pleased with Michelle’s and Layla’s comments last month about large women. Beth has faced Mickie and beaten her before. She’s also defeated Michelle, but never for a championship. Getting revenge and another title reign? Beth probably wouldn’t want to pass that up.

Thankfully we only have to wait 48 hours before we find out! We’re looking forward to seeing Michelle walk into Atlanta as champion and also walking into Phoenix as champion. We have faith, do you?
