Breakin’ Down Smackdown – Results & Media

Backstage in the catering area, we saw Mickie James looking over some fruit. Maybe they were deep fried?! Insert LayCool into the picture! After asking Mickie what she was doing with fruit – perhaps there were cookies in the bowl? – Michelle made sure Mickie knew it wasn’t over. Mickie still has Michelle’s title and it won’t be over until Michelle gets it back. Layla kindly pointed out that it is Michelle’s title because it actually fits her. Mickie didn’t look particularly amused by their suggestions of belt extenders, nor did she seem to appreciate their suggestion of eating cottage cheese. (“To compliment her cottage cheese.” Thank you, Matt Striker, for that visual. Ew.) In fact, Mickie was so unappreciative that she hit the dish out of Michelle’s hand where it landed right on Vickie Guerrero’s head. WHOOPSIES!!!! That’s like spilling coffee on Mr. McMahon! Stupid, and you just don’t do it! Mickie ran off while LayCool tried their hardest to clean up the beloved Vickie.

The original match was scheduled to be Mickie James vs. Layla for the umpteenth time. Fortunately we heard those two words we’ve grown to love, “EXCUSE ME!!!” Still covered in cottage cheese, Vickie came out to announce that the match was now a handicap match. Standing at ringside in her street clothes, Michelle looked thrilled! Homegirl took off her belt and shoes, and was ready to throw down! Oh snaps!

In a strange, against the odds type manner, Mickie managed to fight back several times against LayCool. Say what?! Oh well, she couldn’t fight back for long. Even in an every day tank top and black leggings, Michelle took Mickie down just like she has so many times before. Yep, we’re still convinced that the Rumble was a fluke. Michelle was off guard! Anybody could have done that! That’s our story, and we’re stickin’ to it!

Anyway, one Faith Breaker later and we have our winners: Michelle McCool and Layla! The besties celebrated their victory in the ring with hugs and smiles. What a flawless sight!

Now that our favorite BFFs of Smackdown have Vickie clearly on their side, it’s time to get things back in order for Michelle to win back her championship! Vickie declared her the true number one contender last week. Michelle should have a rematch clause as well, unless those don’t count anymore?? Who knows, things change all the time with WWE. Regardless of that, she is the number one contender. With the Raw girls having a match at the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV, it seems a little more favorable that Michelle will accomplish yet another goal this year by having a one on one match at WrestleMania! Dreams really do come true!
