One year ago today, the flawless Michelle McCool hung up her wrestling boots and called it a day — having achieved a storybook career spanning nearly seven years in the most celebrated squared circle in sports-entertainment: WWE. Since then, Michelle has been soaking up the sun, enjoying her time off, and living life to the fullest — and yes, she is still loving’ life. From time to time, Michelle has granted our website, MichelleMcCool.Net, with a few extra goodies she’d like to share with her fans. This time around, we figured we’d keep it short, sweet, and whimsical – a spontaneous questionnaire with just enough bizarre for any Faithful Follower to appreciate.

It’s been nearly a year since you’re retired from WWE. How’s the body doing?
“Better than ever! It’s amazing what sleep/rest alone can do for your body. When you’re on the road, you try to take care of yourself as best you can, but the travel alone takes a toll on your body!”

Since retirement, have you had any thoughts or ideas pop up into your head that you wish you would have used during your run — If so, what are they?
“No, not really….only because I honestly don’t think about it all that much!:) The only way, & best way, I stay connected is through the fans….pictures they send, videos they make, etc. (which I LOVE by the way)! I love watching old LayCool stuff….it still cracks me up! We really had fun together!”

Any new obsessions you’ve developed? Perhaps a new hobby, television show, iPhone App, etc…
“Hmmmm…….I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with anything, but I do have a new app I enjoy. It’s called “The Moron test!” :) I won’t say how many of the tests I have passed (or possibly failed), but it makes me laugh, makes me scream and aggravates me quicker than just about anything else can. Y’all should try it:)! I’m still into Pilates and cross fit! I’m still trying to get into yoga, but just can’t catch the bug just yet! I’m playing a little bit of golf, but darn that “game” tests my patience like none other! Other than that, just enjoying life!”

You don’t have to name the price (wouldn’t we like to know!), you can be modest, but what’s the most expensive price tag you’ve paid for to treat yourself — and what was it?
“I have to say my staple is sweats and tanks….pretty simple! But, I have splurged on a few (ok, maybe more than a few) pair of nice shoes!”

What’s your opinion on the current state of the WWE Women’s Division? Pros/Cons
“Honestly, I don’t catch raw and/or smack down on a consistent basis, but I have been to a few shows since retiring. It doesn’t seem that things have changed too much as far as match time, storyline progression, etc. (& I could be completely wrong). But, that’s definitely not the girls fault. It’s a tough, uphill battle that has to be fought on a weekly basis. Then once you win the fight, you have to prove yourself to the people in charge! “

Always a favorite: When’s the last time Michelle McCool had a good cry?
“Hmmmmm……..I’ll have to think about that one!?!?”

When’s the last time Michelle McCool has had a good laugh?
“Oh geesh……that’s pretty much a daily thing! I was with some of my best friends yesterday & we were belly laughing all afternoon!”

What has been the most bizarre or interesting offer(s) you’ve received since your WWE retirement?
“Boring, but nothing really! Anybody got any?:)”

Heard any good rumors lately?
“Yeah, but they’re normally about me:)”

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Well, I 100% believe that heaven does exist and I know that I will be going there! I’d like to hear God say, “Michelle, let’s make something clear. I’m the only FLAWLESS one to ever walk this earth, but you’ve done a pretty good job! Welcome!”"

What’s your funniest in ring memory?
“Yikes….let’s see! There have been wardrobe malfunctions, miscommunication, injuries…. Me, Layla & Vickie had some pretty moments. Most of them occurred dark, so we knew we could get away with A LOT more! Needless to say, it was often hard to keep a straight face!”

Now that you’re a lady of leisure, what do you fill your days with?
“A little bit of this, a little bit of that:)! Just normal “daily” stuff I guess…..chores, dishes, laundry, laying out:), golf, working out, eating sleeping and then the cycle normally repeats! It can get exhausting at times!:)”

What’s the best advice you could give a young female wrestler?
“To get your education first! Divas come & go, so you have to be prepared to have something to fall back on!”

Did you attend this year’s Hall of Fame and if so, who was the most emotional (for you) inductee?
“Yes I did and I must say my dress was pretty flawless!:) I loved Jbl’s induction speech the best. He is just such an entertaining, poised speaker! I thought this was one of the best HOF classes in several years…..of course I’ve always loved Arn, then you have edge, Ron, the list goes on. I really enjoyed it, as a fan, this year!”

If you were to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, who would you like to do it?
“That’s a real big “If!” I’d have to cross that road once we got there….I think there are a few obvious choices!”

‘The Hunger Games’ is a favorite book/movie series of both Josie and I, in which 24 Teens are pitted against one another in a ‘Last man/woman standing’ outdoor arena fight to the death. If “you were thrown into the same situation with the current WWE Diva/Superstar roster, who do you think would win and how well do you think you’d do?
Are you serious?:) I’d crush them:)”

What outdoors survival skills/athletic/fighting skills do you have that would help you?
“2 words: Krav Maga!!!!”

If you could go back in time and give your 14 year old self some advice, what would you say?
“You are going to cross so many bridges in life. You need to learn not to worry about the things you can’t control! Keep your head on straight….never wavering from your morals! It’s not always going to be the “cool” thing to do, but do what’s right and you’ll get further in life! Don’t sweat the small stuff….you’ll have plenty of big things to worry about! Lastly, smile because you never know who might be looking!”

From your time with the WWE, who/what do you miss the most?
“I do miss performing in front of the fans! I’ve said it a million times, but there is just no feeling like it! Throughout my years with WWE, I may some good, true friends that I miss dearly – Sharmell, Vickie, Torrie, Lisa, Layla, MVP, Chavo and plenty others I’m sure I’ve missed!”

Like me, you were a child of the 80′s… what ridiculous clothes/fashion tragedies did your parents put you in to? (tie dye leggings, arg!)
“Oh….plenty, but at the time I’m sure I thought I was pretty cute! That list is probably endless…..tie dye leggings/shirts, permed hair, scrunchies to match EVERY outfit, huge bangs, etc….”

What item/food can you not live without?
“Bible, Chapstick, spray butter, ketchup & UGGS :)”

Siiiigh. So this time, one year ago, the cracks were forming in the friendship of our much beloved LayCool. After a series of small errors from Layla, Michelle began to get tired of the mistakes and the slip ups and started to question her friends abilities. Well, you have to point a flaw out to a girl after all otherwise how is she ever going to correct it? In a match against the impossibly wiggly Rosa Mendes, Michelle took to commentary ready to stick her bedazzled boot (poorly foot, boo) up Diva butt should Rosa get out of hand.

Rrrrrrrrrosa attacked Layla after a little taunting, leaving Michelle decidedly unimpressed with her friends performance. “Well, if she needs a little help you know the first step is admitting it, so I’ll do anything to keep our friendship in tact.” Quoth the Queen as she watches Layla struggle to overcome her Smurfette opponent. Well, Michelle’s nothing if not caring and giving. The match goes on and Rosa dominates Layla on the outside, moving them around to where Michelles sitting. Michelle has a strongly worded critique for miss Rosa but rather than listen, Layla pushes Rosa into Ms McCool sending her crashing to the floor! Well, as if Michelle would stand for that, quickly she’s up on her feet and putting that bedazzled boot to good use. Pasting Rosa’s face around the mat for her but unfortunately, getting Layla disqualified in the process.

Oh dear.

It’s Laylas turn to question her friend, but Michelle simply retorts “I’m taking care of your business, what do you think I’m doing?!” …. ZING! An argument in the ring results in a tense hug and LayCool remain in tact.. for now. What a difference a year makes. Until next time!

You also continue to inspire us to follow our own dreams (or some other knucklehead will), and that having faith to fight the good fight can look pretty darn easy in an envious pair of Christian Louboutin’s or Alexander McQueen’s, even though we know better. In short, you are the flawless blueprint of a storybook career that we have been so honored to have been apart of – from chapter to chapter, cover to cover, it has always been our pleasure.

So Happy Birthday to “The First Lady of SmackDown,” “MiMi McFirece,” and “Michelle McCruel” herself. Real Talk — we hope it’s a flawless one.

PWI did a great job putting together this article, and more specifically, senior writer, Dan Murphy. Murphy asks the “good” questions, and by that, we mean ones that hadn’t already been asked for the umpteenth time. While Michelle doesn’t reveal much she hadn’t already before (especially from her audio memoirs), Michelle does go into detail with the questions she’s asked.

As Murphy put; “I got the sense that she was a sweet and genuine person who just wasn’t cut out for the political B.S. wrestling can involve,” – if that isn’t telling enough to just how candid and how much of a great read this is, then well, we don’t know what is!

Michelle’s standout quote is by far the one that let’s her fans know that she’s not coming back anytime soon; at least for now. “I’d love to be a parent and be as good as my mom and dad were [...] I think it’s something that comes natural and something I would love to have.“

Again, this is a great read, and it’s 15-pages of a tribute in print, fit for any Faithful Follower of Michelle McCool.

Not only was Michelle spot-on as far as looks are concerned, but she channeled the WWE Hall of Famer, putting forth a great impersonation! The segment proved to be hysterical, the costume is definitely memorable, and it was an all-around great show put forth by two of the most entertaining duos – EVER! We’re not worthy!
